Abstract

|
In 1939, Walter Schiller described an ovarian tumor which he thought should be differentiated from the pelvic tumors for its unusual morphological pattern. Schiller thought the tumor was derived from the mosonephron and called it mesonephroma.
After Schiller´s original report, numerous additional cases of mesonephroma have been reported by different authors.
Mesonephroma must be considered as distinct pathological entity, well separated from the other tumors of pelvic cavity. In Korea, a few cases of mesonephroma were reported.
We had treated a case of mesonephroma of a 7 years old young girl, which was pathologically confirmed.
Brief review of its entity was also made.
